Sugar Moon is a kawaii tarot deck in which every Major Arcana card is drawn as a chibi character with big, sparkling eyes and pink cheeks. The cards are pastel pink, lilac and mint, framed by strings of pearls, ribbons, roses and crystals. It is one of the six free decks on Zorynthia, a web app for AI tarot readings, and its 22 cards work on every account.

Classic tarot motifs are redrawn in a magical girl style. The Magician raises a star wand over a heart-shaped table, The Tower is pink and covered in little hearts with a rainbow lightning bolt, and on The Sun a girl in a flower crown rides a unicorn. The sweetness is only on the surface. The AI interprets every card by its traditional meaning in the context of your question, so The Tower in Sugar Moon still speaks of disruption and change.

What does Sugar Moon look like?

Sugar Moon is clean, flat illustration with bold outlines and soft gradients from pink through lilac to mint. Each card sits inside a busy frame of pearl strands, ribbons, bows, corner roses and violet crystals. The Roman numeral is set in a heart at the top, and the card name is lettered in gold on a cream plaque below.

The characters are chibi figures with glossy oversized eyes, often holding wands or wearing bows, in the spirit of magical girl anime. Stars, hearts and sparkles fill the backgrounds. On The Moon a puppy and a wolf cub sit beneath a sleepy triple moon while a crab peeks out of a puddle. The card back is a blushing, smiling sun ringed with stars, hearts and a crescent moon.

Who is Sugar Moon for?

Sugar Moon is for fans of anime, manga and kawaii style, and for anyone who wants a reading to be pleasant to look at first of all. It works well for lighter questions about friendships, a new relationship or plans for the coming weeks, and for people who find the skeletons and burning towers of traditional decks off-putting.

To be clear about what changes: the picture does, the tone of the reading does not. The AI's interpretation is exactly as straightforward as with any other deck and will not turn sugary because the cards are pastel. On Zorynthia, tarot is meant for entertainment and self-reflection, not for predicting the future.

How do you get a reading with Sugar Moon?

Sign up and 5 free tokens land in your account, no payment card needed. One token covers one reading. Enter your question, pick a category such as love, career or general, then choose Sugar Moon. Three cards are drawn at random from the 22 Major Arcana, standing for past, present and future.

The AI goes through each card in light of your question and adds a summary, with the text appearing on screen as it is written. You can draw up to two extra cards at 1 token each. Every reading is saved to your history so you can come back to it. The artwork has no effect on the interpretation, which rests on each card's traditional meaning.

Sugar Moon: frequently asked questions

Is the Sugar Moon tarot deck free?

Yes. Sugar Moon is one of Zorynthia's six free decks and works on every account, with no Arcana Pass required. You pay only for readings, at 1 token each. New accounts get 5 tokens without a payment card, and extra tokens come in packs, starting at €1.69 for 10 tokens.

How many cards does Sugar Moon have?

Sugar Moon has 22 cards: the full Major Arcana from The Fool (0) to The World (XXI), with the classic names and numbering, each drawn in chibi style. There are no Minor Arcana. Zorynthia's 78-card decks are the six premium decks in the Arcana Pass subscription, at €11.99 a month with 150 tokens included.

Does Sugar Moon change card meanings compared with the Rider–Waite–Smith deck?

No. Sugar Moon loosely follows the Rider–Waite–Smith scenes but redraws them in chibi style: two tiny imps sit at the Devil's feet instead of a chained couple, and the child on The Sun rides a unicorn instead of a horse. Zorynthia's AI interprets each card by its traditional meaning and does not analyze the artwork, so the meanings stay classic.

What does the Death card look like in Sugar Moon?

In Sugar Moon, Death is not a skeleton. It is a chibi girl in a lilac hood with little bat wings, holding a scythe tied with a bow, with a skull-patterned butterfly resting on her hand. The meaning stays traditional: the AI reads Sugar Moon's Death as the end of a chapter that makes room for something new, not as literal death.
